Introduction
It’s tough to rule a kingdom while the king is away. Doubly so when there’s some uppity son of a lord who thinks he’s Robin Hood. There are taxes to collect, barons to control and castles to build. The last thing that you need is a bunch of lawless riff-raff in the local forest intercepting your bribes. Luckily, you are not the only one who suffers at the hands of these ‘merry’ men. As the Prince, Merchant, Constable, Bishop, Baroness, Abbess and Sheriff of Nottingham, you all stand to loose your head if you cannot stop the banditry and deliver the fortune in gold you promised the Barons before the king returns. But, to do so, you will have to work together, keep Sherwood Forest clear of ‘merry’ men and uncover the one of you is secretly supporting this infamous Legend of Loxley.

How to Play
Nottingham is a card driven cooperative game. Each turn, you will have (at least) six cards in your hand – two from the Sherwood draw pile and four from the Nottingham draw piles. First, you will have to play a card for the Sherwood Bandits before you can perform any other actions. These cards strike at the resources that you have accumulated on the board as well as advance the return of the king. Since you have a choice to make about which of the two Sherwood Bandits card to play, you can try to divert the bandits where they will do the least damage to your plans. Then, you have the opportunity to perform actions that help you from the Nottingham cards in your hand. These actions collect the taxes, tolls and tithes, send the shipments, decrease the corruption in Nottingham, delay the king, clear the forest of bandits, arrest outlaws and otherwise help you accomplish your goal of getting the peasants money in the hands of the barons. However, most actions require you to be in a specific location to perform them. So, you will also have to expend cards in your hand in order to move around the board if you want to accomplish all your goals. After you have performed a couple actions on your turn, you may then place as many of the remaining (non-Sherwood) cards in your hand onto the zones of Nottinghamshire to be used later for taxes, tolls and tithes, or you can hold onto them for a subsequent turn. By coordinating all these actions and wisely using your resources, you should be able to raise enough money before King Richard returns. But, you will have to watch out for the traitor in your midst who is secretly working for Robin Hood. That player may be working with you for the moment, but when the time is right, he can use the very same resources to sabotage all your efforts.
